OPERATIONS MANAGER

We operate a container yard and dedicated modification facility on 50 acres adjacent to the Port of NY and NJ, where we proudly employ and empower a diverse team of exceptional individuals committed to providing our customers superior products, services, and solutions.

    THE POSITION

    Responsible for the daily management and oversight of 635 Secure Parking, a 24/7/365 operation, including the management of all 635 staff, oversight of the contracted security firm and overseeing 635’s emergency procedures process. Also responsible for ensuring 635 customers receive a positive customer service experience by maintaining customer relationships and using conflict resolution to de-escalate any potential problems.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversee all  functions  of  635  Secure  Parking’s  operation  including  the  oversight  of  the  Emergency Procedures Process
    • Manage the Yard Supervisors and Yard Coordinators
    • Ensure safety and security are the primary focus of the 635 Secure Parking operation
    • Schedule all shifts for 635 personnel
    • Work with contracted Security Site Supervisor to schedule Security staff members
    • Train, coach and mentor 635 personnel including their initial training and continuous development
    • Participate in the ongoing performance management process of staff including writing and delivering performance evaluations, administering progressive discipline as necessary and providing year-round performance feedback
    • Handle customer-related problems and communicate resolution to the VP, Operations in a timely manner
    • Oversee special projects as directed by the VP, Operations
    • Purchase monthly stock items as necessary
    • Share in the weekend on call rotation
    • Actively maintain and update customer records, in 635’s proprietary system, on a quarterly basis to ensure all active customers have been contacted; and assist with collection calls as directed by the VP, Operations
    • Manage the Parking Reservation System as necessary
    • Prepare Monthly Operations Report
    • Manage Operations Checklist in its entirety
    • Oversee Vending programs

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) credential
    • Three to five years experience in trucking/transportation or warehousing
    • Three to five years managerial experience
    • Strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Valid New Jersey driver’s license with a clean driving history
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
    • Willingness to work additional hours, including off-hours “call-ins” and some holidays
    • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

    Employment is subject to the completion of due-diligence inquiries, including a background check and a pre- employment medical examination incorporating a drug and alcohol screen, which will take place after a conditional offer is made.

    PREFERRED/PLUS

    • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus
    • Some college coursework or trade school is a plus
