Operations Manager

Interport Maintenance Co., Inc. (“Interport”) is an intermodal container reseller and depot operator located in Newark’s industrial sector, adjacent to the Port of New York and New Jersey. Further information on Interport is available at www.iport.com.

Position

Interport is seeking an energetic individual with hands-on industry experience to serve as Operations Manager. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager will be responsible for:

Oversight of all functions of Interport’s gate, yard, and shops
Supervision of yard staff and ILA labor, including scheduling and accounting for labor hours
Coordination of independent surveyor activity
Quality control in support of both depot and resale operations
Implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures
Liaising with staff responsible for equipment control and customer service
Maintenance and operation of lift equipment fleet
Purchasing and tracking of parts, supplies, and services
Assistance with facilities management and related projects
Participation in and adherence to safety and compliance programs

Requirements

Minimum five years of management experience in the NY/NJ container industry
Familiarity with IICL and COA container repair criteria
Expertise in all aspects of ISO container maintenance and repair
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Availability to work hours of 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily, with additional hours on occasion
